Pressed Juices

What are pressed juices?

Pressed juices refer to juice that is made using hydraulic presses that extract the juice from vegetables and fruits. The cold press is the process of shredding the produce and compressing them. Whereas, the pasteurisation process kills possibly harmful bacteria from the juice. This is a great and easy way to add more nutrients into your diet. You could even press juices at home, that way you will know exactly what’s going into them. You do not have to replace all other foods and drink with these but it can just be added as part of a healthy balanced diet.

What are the main benefits of pressed juices?

There are several benefits of pressed juices, no matter whether you are a fitness fanatic, just getting into fitness, a meat eater or a vegan. Firstly, pressed juices can improve your health in many ways. Pasteurised pressed juices often have less bacteria in them and can last longer on the shelf due to this reason. Whereas, cold pressed juices may not last as long.

As no oxygen or heat is used in the process of cold-pressing, nutrients will not get lost, so they are also full of enzymes, minerals and vitamins. They can also help with detoxing and boost health and immunity. They also help to fight off toxins and as they do not contain as much fibre, it is easier for the digestive system to break down the vegetables and fruits. When you drink these juices you will instantly feel revitalised and energised.

The pressed juice benefits are endless no matter what the fruits and vegetables in the juice. Whether you are wanting to change your daily fix, detox, cleanse or try new foods. Then you won’t be disappointed with pressed juices.

Negatives of pressed juices

Pressed juices often don’t have any fibre in them as this is pressed out, which means that they are lacking vital nutrients. Also, no matter what type of juice it is they usually have a high sugar content. However, it should be noted that drinking your fruits and vegetables is better than not consuming any at all. However, the low levels of fibre can impact your glucose and weight levels, as you may be consuming more calories but not feeling full afterwards.

Not all juices have the same amount of nutrients in them, some are filtered or thinned with added sugars. Often there won’t be as much goodness in those compared to whole fruits and vegetables. Juice alone may not be the answer as there are many other forms of nutrients that your body needs to function properly. For example, your body needs fibre and protein which you can’t really get from pressed juices.

Are pressed juices a good way to cleanse the body?

All things considered, are you interested in detoxing or just fancy a tasty and healthy drink? Then pressed juices may be the one. Pressed juices have so many benefits and helps to give your digestive system a rest. It also makes it simpler for other organs in your body to get rid of toxins from your system. Your body may be exposed to alcohol, processed foods, refined sugar and environmental pollutants. These are all fine in moderation however, a juice cleanse can help to reduce the effects of these on your body. You may feel more energised, have clearer skin, less bloating and cravings. Do you think you’ll now start drinking more pressed juices?
