The NHS recommends around 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. But more than that, we would recommend that you make time for yourself through exercise, whether that is going to the gym, a brisk walk or a run at your local park or green space.

Exercise is not just about maintaining a healthy weight, it can really clear you head after a tough day and keep you feeling inspired. After all, the sense of achievement from a successful exercise session or workout can make us feel great.

Maintaining a good work life balance is also vital in achieving personal wellness and reducing stress. If possible, it’s important to make the most of any schemes which your workplace may offer such as flexible working hours and working from home, so you can strike the right balance, spend more time with your loved and also make time for you. 

Remember that is not about working harder but working smarter which can be achieved through setting clear and measurable priorities and not being afraid to ask for support when you need it. It’s okay to use your annual leave entitlement, even for no reason at all, take a holiday and realise when it’s time to take a well-deserved break.

Healthy relationships
A good home life balance which promotes a positive mindset includes having healthy relationships with your family, friends and those closest you. Any stress, whether that is from work or elsewhere, you might feel is likely to have impact on your relationships so it’s important to keep this at bay wherever possible.

Expectations
It’s important to be realistic with any expectations that you may have. You don’t have to change everything at once but instead think about any areas of your life, however big or small, which you would like to improve upon in order to better your sense of wellbeing and reduce stress.
