Cardio Exercise

Why should you exercise?

There are many reasons why you should exercise but often, even more why you shouldn’t!

Whether you simply want to enjoy the positive feeling that a successful cardio workout can give or you are overweight or obese and are trying to achieve a healthier weight, almost everyone can benefit from keeping fit and active, no matter how challenging it might feel to fit it into our busy schedules.

According to the NHS, people who exercise regularly have a lower risk of developing many long-term (chronic) conditions, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, and some cancers

What are the benefits of exercising regularly?
Here are just some of the many benefits of doing any type of cardio workout as part of your daily or weekly routine:

Weight Loss – Regular exercise can help with weight loss, many people who are aiming to achieve fat loss swear by the 70% diet and 30% exercise rule. In other words, if you want to lose weight in a safe and sustainable way, you must keep active with regular exercise alongside a balanced, healthy diet for the best results.

Healthy Lifestyle – But it’s not just about losing weight – it’s about feeling like the best version of ourselves through making healthy lifestyle choices where we can. In fact, NHS research shows that physical activity can also boost self-esteem, mood, sleep quality and energy, as well as reducing your risk of stress, depression, detention and Alzheimer’s disease.

Mental Health – Exercise can have many benefits on your emotional health too. It releases endorphins which are commonly known as the ‘feel good’ hormone and comes from the sense of achievement we feel after we’ve pushed through both physical and mental challenges after we’ve been cycling or running!

An annual or monthly gym membership can be expensive and a commitment.
