What is aerobics? 

Aerobics is an upbeat activity that can be designed to suit all fitness levels, with the aim of improving all aspects of fitness. It is any activity that gets your large muscle groups working and blood pumping around your body. Examples of aerobics activity include; swimming, running, playing football, cycling and brisk walking. You could also attend an aerobics class at a gym or follow a virtual aerobics class at home. Aerobics can also be done in groups with friends or family so it is a great way to get active and socialise at the same time. 

What are the benefits of aerobics?

There are so many fantastic benefits of aerobics including;

It is a great way to lose weight. If your goal is to lose weight, aerobics is certainly beneficial for you. Throughout a 30 minute aerobics workout you can burn between 250-350 calories. By regulary doing aerobics this can give you the power to lose weight and also keep that weight off. 

Aerobics will help you stay active, boost your energy levels and most importantly boost your mood. Have you ever heard that exercising boosts your mood? Well, its true! Even just one workout can instantly make you feel happier especially if its a high energy workout such as, aerobics. This can also lead to a reduction in anxiety and depression levels. 

Aerobics is also great for strengthening your cardiovascular health, it is recommended by several health experts and doctors for people who are at risk for, heart disease. This is because aerobics helps efficiently pump blood through your body and strengthens your heart. It can also help to lower your blood pressure, if you are looking to do this, aerobics is for you. 

Increasing the efficiency of respiration and improving your stamina, improves brain power, strengthens immune system, aids sleep, reduces chronic pain and regulate blood sugar levels are all benefits of aerobics to name a few. 

Why not put on some uplifting music now and try a mixture of the following exercises enough to temporarily speed up your breathing and heart rate. Aim to build up to 45 minutes of exercise.
